New Books For Fall
I’ve spent the last couple of weeks carefully choosing books for each piano student to have as we start the new school year. Most students have a little yellow sticky note that I left with a list of books on it for you to pick up at Mill’s Music in Poulsbo….. though there are a few of you that haven’t yet gotten your sticky note of books, but I have yours to give you at our next lesson. I know that Mills is closed for Labor Day but try to get out there this week so we can get going on our new stuff as soon as possible.
As for guitar students, you also have new repertoire! The time I took off two weeks ago was spent preparing your teaching material as well: tabbing new songs, scales, technical exercises, ear training, and theory worksheets to get us all re-motivated as we move into Fall. Each of you have a file that has the exercises and songs that I’ve chosen as your new curriculum and I’ll bring them with me to your lessons.
I know you’re all probably sick of getting school supplies, but I have similar handouts prepared for my piano students as well so if you could make sure that each student has their own folder for the handouts I have for them as well as an adequate notebook for me to write down your weekly assignments (if you don’t already have one) that would be awesome. If you take both piano and guitar, having a folder and notebook for each instrument would be best.
See you later this week!
